We kindly ask you not to forget to bring the following documents:

-          passport;

-          any document certifying that you have paid the tuition fee;

-          visa or residence permit – if you already have it;

-          a document proving that you have a health insurance (those students who still don’t have a health insurance may receive the necessary forms and get their insurance on the spot).

Housing

As you may know, the Academy does not have a residence house yet, so the students have to find their accommodation individually. The International Registrar’s Office, however, is doing its best to give assistance in finding an apartment that suits the needs of each student. The staff is constantly working on putting together a list of flats, which are close to the Academy and provide students with a possibility to practice, so feel free to ask them for help.

Residence permit

After your visa has expired, you will need a residence permit for your studies. Please visit the homepage of the Immigration Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at www.bmbah.hu for details on residence permits for registered students. We are also attaching some extra information on this issue further on in the folder.

Health insurance

A full coverage basic health insurance policy valid for Hungary is a prerequisite for a residence permit. Either you prove that you have a basic health insurance in your country of origin valid for Hungary as well and at least for the academic year (10 months), or you are requested to obtain medical insurance in Budapest. We recommend you Generali Providencia Insurance – you may sign for it at the International Registrar's office.

Student ID card

You will sign up for a student ID card when registering for the semester. Until you receive your permanent ID, you will be given a temporary one. The ID makes you eligible for a number of benefits, like using public transport for a reduced price, buying museum and concert tickets cheaper, etc.

Library

The library of the Academy is open during the teaching period workdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, plus saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The registration fee is HUF 600 for full-time students. Part-time students are required to pay a deposit of HUF 30.000 in cash when registering. This will be paid back via bank transfer at the end of the school year if the student has no debts towards the library. The library is located at 10 Eötvös utca (6th District).
