
1. Two etudes: One chosen by the candidate, and one compulsory etude chosen by the examination panel one month before the audition date.
2. One short piece - solo or with accompaniment.
3. One complete sonata.
4. One complete concerto played from memory.
5. Sight-reading of an orchestral part given on the day of the examination.
The sonata and the concerto have to be of different style.
Recommended material:
Solo piece: a movement from a Bach cello suite, pieces by Koussevitzky, Bottesini, etc.
Sonata: Misek I, II, Hindemith, etc.
Concerto: Dittersdorf, Vanhal, Bottesini, Koussewitzky, etc.

General Admission Requirements – MA
Written examination:
Bass harmonisation: harmonisation of a bass line of cca. 10 notes, indication of the accords with figures.
Analysis: formal analysis of the opening movement of a sonata from the stylistic circle of Haydn and Mozart piano
sonatas.
Exam in general music studies:
a. Identification of 10 music pieces - possibly composer and title, but at least the epoch or style and identification or
the genre.
b. Explanation and interpretation of 10 music terms, concepts, titles, etc.
