János Balázs - piano

János Balázs takes on the task of conquering four high peaks of the Chopin-oeuvre and thus of the piano literature as well in one night. As an intellectual heir to György Cziffra, First Prize winner of the International Cziffra Piano Competition he is studying at the Liszt Academy with Kálmán Dráfi. There are only a few among the young ones like him who can play Chopin’s works with such authenticity. His sensibility, fascinating instrumental knowledge and mainly his commitment to the romantic era predestine him to be regarded as a great Chopin-player of the future. Faithful to his habit he chose grandiose works of this composer known by smaller pieces. Two fantasies and two sonatas – such abstract music that speak the most modern language of our age but converse with the great predecessors, the Beethoven of piano sonatas, Mozart of irresistible melodies and Bach, the master of polyphony.
